I forgot to add this video to my post about sports day. This video is the entire student body performing their communist/military style warm up. It was really weird to see. Apparently all of the schools in Korea do this before their sports day. I specifically remember when I went on the overnight trip during orientation with the KEY Club (Korean English Yard) that when it was time to go swimming all of the Americans jumped into the river without hesitation. All of the Korean kids stood by the side and watched us kind of strangely and we wondered why they weren't coming in. A few moments later they all got into lines and did a group warm up/exercise routine. At the time I thought it was extremely weird, but I've since learned that Koreans looove stretching and do it before any sort of physical activity. Recently Seth and I were in a subway station waiting for our train to arrive when an old Korean woman who was standing in front of us (obviously wearing hiking gear...did I mention ajummas wear hiking gear everywhere?) started doing leg swings and lunges while waiting for the train as if no one else were around. Very strange.
Anyway, please enjoy this video.
