We got our school placements today and I have to say I couldn't be happier! I am going to be at Namsang Elementary School in Cheongju which is right near Daejeon (Korea's fifth largest city). I'm smack dab in the middle of the country. I'm also only a 45 minute express train ride from Seoul! Cheongju is sort of a small city of about 600,000 people. I'm also near Songnisan (the Buddhist temple mountain retreat we went to the other weekend). I already know a lot about my placement and homestay because I'm taking over the spot of a former ETA who I've actually already met at one of our workshops. He seemed to love his placement and his homestay, so I am very excited. I am also near 3 of my best friends here: Kelly, Kate and Cornelius. The other 2 people who are in the same city are very cool as well. I'm a little sad that some of the other people I'm close with are kind of far away. But really, most of them are at most a 2-3 hour train ride away. Definitely close enough for a weekend trip to visit.

I am happy for you. That is awesome that you already know so much about it, and got to meet someone who did what you did. That has to make it easier. Should be fun once you get your kids
